The system integrates millimeter wave radar and AI algorithms to automatically identify the location of ship power interfaces, reducing manual docking time from 45 minutes to 8 minutes.
The traditional shore power system relies on the naked eye judgment of the crew, which has problems such as low docking accuracy and high safety hazards, "said Wang Tao, the chief engineer of the project. The new system is equipped with an intelligent robotic arm with six axis motion compensation function, which can maintain stable connection even in level 4 sea conditions. At present, the system has completed thousands of actual ship tests at Yangshan Deepwater Port, with a failure rate of less than 0.03%.
Industry insiders analyze that with the increasing pressure of global port carbon reduction, the demand for such intelligent shore power equipment is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 35%. Maersk, Daffy and other shipping giants have clearly stated that they will prioritize cooperation with ports compatible with intelligent shore power systems.
